This brief lecture by Dr. David Suzuki is profoundly enlightening.

David has been a friend of mine for over three decades and in my opinion he is the foremost environmentalist thinker on the planet. Geneticist, television presenter for "The Nature of Things", founder of the Suzuki Foundation and an environmentalist who is not afraid to tell it like it is.

In 1989 I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the Amazon with David. And then in 1992 I attended the United Nations Conference on the Environment in Brazil with him, when his eleven year old daughter Severn Suzuki made her incredibly significant speech to the assembly.

David has been one of the most world's most courageous champions in delivering the message about climate change and over-population. And at 77 he is still on the front lines and making an astounding impact with enlightening humanity to the consequences of our collective behavior.

The Canadian government considers him to be a significant threat to their ignorant and destructive policies, especially with their obsession with exploiting the tar sands at any cost. The anti-environmental right wing media has worked overtime to discredit him but he is not a man to be silenced nor is he a man to be ignored.

He is along with Dr. Carl Sagan one of only a handful of truly courageous and passionate scientists and in my opinion without him and scientists like him, humanity has no hope of survival.
